I’m online constantly and regularly share with my friends and fam links I find interesting.  So, I thought I’d curate them into a new weekly series.  Some have provoked thought for me while others I find are just hilarious.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Subconsciously, I’ve been redecorating my boudoir this week.  I say it’s not related to “V” day but maybe I’m fooling myself.  I’ve never been one to make a fuss over Valentine’s Day…I don’t run around gift shopping, dress shopping, etc.  A heartfelt card and just sharing a quiet moment chatting with a couple glasses of wine does it for me…whether V-day or any other day.  However, in spite of my positions, I can’t help but to notice the hype from the TV commercials, to the blogs, to the newspapers…this is the designated week for love.  Before I realize it, my mind starts to go…quiet moments, in the bedroom, mood setting, sensual décor-ing, designer flowing….and, I’m now in full gear. :-)

The whimsical-ness of the hourglass keeps designers recreating its form time and time again.  Original records of this playful object d'art - once called a sand glass - dates back to the 14th century.  There is no record of who the actual inventor is...just documents showing proof of it's first use during Medieval times.  When you think about it, how many objects were created hundreds of years ago that have zero practical use today but you can still find them pretty much everywhere?

As a woman of biracial decent and mother of a young seven year old boy, I wonder – along with many other mothers – if I will see a day when racial profiling seizes to exist.
