This week I thought we should take our eyes off the floor and look up a little at some timeless lighting fixtures to add some Wow onto our ceilings.
The ceiling may not be as functional as the floors we walk on or the walls we hang shelves, frames, mirrors & more on. However, almost always when someone looks up at the ceiling and actually notices it, it either has a unique ceiling finish or an outstanding lighting fixture.
The below spaces were designed for a newlywed couple that recently purchased a newly constructed home of which I have been working on designing both the first and second floors. The images below show a compilation of spaces throughout the ground floor. The scope of work was to create intimate, comfortable and functional spaces that fit their specific lifestyle.
Hi Everyone, I'm kicking off a weekly series titled "Taj's Top 10" to highlight my favorite products sourced for various virtual clients from the week prior. This week, I’m sharing my top 10 picks that could add a WOW factor and up the style-factor in your family room, living room, home office and more.
Fourth quarter is probably the busiest season for designers. Everyone's in the spirit of joy and beautifying everything around them. We've been busy with consultations and enjoying spending time with homeowners discussing their vision and needs for their personal spaces...it's truly an honor to be their trusted partner in this important effort.
A huge part of our design practice focuses on not only livable luxury but the incorporation of wellness in the home. It's a sense of responsibility that we embody subtly, one we know provides a huge and lasting impact in our clients lives forever.
Last week's virtual design consultations were mostly about choosing paint colors so I decided to provide a few key tips when contemplating how to choose the next color as well as preparing for your next DIY paint job.
Hi everyone, I’ve been doing quite a few virtual consultations for home offices in the recent weeks and I’m sharing below a recent collection I curated from CB2.
We've all see the swoon-worthy kitchen photos on Instagram and dream of one day having a WOW kitchen of our own. Do you have to really wait for that instant gratification because a full renovation just isn't possible for you right now? Ofcourse not! This is one of the top requests I get in my virtual home consultations. How can I update my kitchen NOW when I don't have a renovation budget?
Our awesome clients purchased a new construction townhome and were ready immediately to upgrade the builder basics and design their master bedroom, living room, family room and powder room. This young couple has such a chill and loving vibe, I consider myself fortunate to be in their space and a part of their journey. This is the recently completed powder room. The assignment was simple..."We want to be rid of the basic & boring; We want cool & sophisticated"!!! After reviewing a few inspo images from Pinterest, they quickly decided what they wanted and I was on my way. Check it out.
This entire house is in transformation mode...at a very methodical pace! These clients are the absolute most impressive I've ever worked with. They are masters at controlling their budget and extremely strict about when and how they will start their projects. It's not only impressive, I totally envy this self-discipline. Trust me, this one is where I'm learning as much from them as I feel they're learning from me.
I saw a meme a couple days ago that read something like this, "I bet back in 2015 your 5-year plan never looked like this." No words are truer, right?! I mean, we wrapped the first quarter of 2020 on quarantine with COVID-19, then went into global protests for #BlackLivesMatter and it appears we may possibly be headed back to quarantine with soaring new cases of the coronavirus once again. Holistically, I've been working to channel my energy on self-care and wellness. What better way to battle, if you will, what's going on in the world? As a designer, a significant part of my process is to make sure these important things are reflected in spaces I design as well
